Specializations are offered to the students in the following 6 functional areas:

Marketing Management

This course builds an in-depth understanding of basic marketing concepts and applies those concepts to a variety of management situations, including non-profit and public sector settings. The course provides working knowledge of the tools of marketing (product, price, distribution, and promotion) and the ways in which these tools can be usefully employed. The course builds practical skills in analyzing marketing problems and opportunities, and in developing marketing programs. Apart from case based studies and theoretical Knowledge, we encourage students to actively participate in Marketing Fairs, Real Life Projects, Market Research and Market Survey, so that they can evolve their own case studies.

Financial Management

Financial Management introduces students to the fundamentals of financial management. Students learn how to create and enforce a budget by analyzing financial statements, setting objectives, monitoring and controlling performance. Apart from financial concepts, at JSB the students are also exposed to Simulations, Virtual stock market analysis and Corporate Financial Reports. We enable them to analyze and assess real life corporate financial reports , so that they can make their own financial judgments.

Operation Management

This course is concerned with the design of systems to produce goods and services and the operation of those systems. It discusses relationships within the company environment, particularly with marketing and product design. Topics covered include facilities planning, total quality management (TQM), cost analysis, project planning, and operations resource management.

This specialization imparts knowledge and understanding of operations resource management and the factors involved in designing and operating a production process.We equip students with the analytical skills that are required in the contemporary operations environment. This course is only open to students who are Graduate Engineers.

Education Management

The management of education has never been more important than it is today. Educators governmental & private as well as other functionaries have a critical role to play in the dissemination of education if we are to have a just equitable and knowledge empowered academic environment.The course is structured from the ground up seeing education through the lens of education perspectives, government policy perspectives , change perspective and leadership perspectives.A systematic engagement with educationists and thought leaders along with increasing recognition that structured understanding of education management is essential for the development of future leaders and innovators ensures that this highly sought after discipline will play a key role in the years to come.

Human Resource Management

The course fulfils the professional learning, training and development needs of those who are in the early part of their career in human resource management, training and development or employee relations. The electives provide for an in-depth examination of theory and principles in the human resource management and development functional areas. The program is a blend of several management disciplines such as organizational development and change, performance management, strategic human resource management, leadership, governance and ethics among others.

International Business

The International Business Scenario has changed dramatically over the last 50 years or so, Many Indian companies have become multinationals and a host of MNC’s have set up shop in India. In this context this specialization will give a student ample exposure to the external and internal opportunities and problems that these companies face as they battle competition and cultural diversity in the work place. A continuous involvement with current research ensures the student is abreast with current international Business scenarios in various countries.

Registration for Electives and Eligibility to Appear at the Examinations.

A student has to register his/her name for the electives as per the programme at the time of end-term examination of the 3rd trimester. No elective paper will be offered if there are less than five students opting for the particular elective in the Institute.

A student shall be eligible to appear in an end-term examination provided he/she attends at least 75% of classes in each subject and in the additional subject / programme conducted by the Institute time to time. Subject-wise attendance of a student shall be displayed in the notice board twice in a trimester (middle and end). The consideration of a student (to permit to sit for the examination) who has been absent for a short period of time on medical ground or due to participation in cultural, sports, other academic or official assignment in the interest of the Institution is the discretion of the Academic Council of the Institute and the student shall take the prior written permission with supportive documents or submit the medical report for the cause of his/her absentia on medical ground, as the case may be.

The schedule of the classes will be notified through a time table before beginning of the classes in each trimester. Every student shall be issued an admit card before every end-term examination.
