Industrial Visit to Vizag Steel Plant
On 5th of August,2011 we the students of JSB with our respected faculties went for an excursion to Vishakapatnam in Andra Pradesh. Our trip was
for 4 days and 5 nights. On the same day at night we reached our destination and went to hotel close to beach .The next day early in the morning
we left for Vizag steel plant and visited the plant. There we were welcomed by Miss Bharti Naydu (Jr. personnel manager RNIL) and she gave us a
brief introduction about the plant and also told us about the safety measures that we have to follow during the visit inside the plant. After
that we went with one of the engineers of RNIL to go through the plant and the engineer accompanied us, as a guide to the plant. Then we left
the plant at 1pm and went for lunch in a south Indian restaurant, there for the first time most of us tried the south Indian thali. It was really
very delicious food. After having our lunch we went to our hotel and took rest for half an hour and again got ready to visit local places. We went
to Kailashgiri as it is situated in mountains from where we can have a view toward the Vizag city and then we climbed in the ropeway few of our
classmates were scared of the ropeway because of the height of the mountain. There it started raining and in that rain we have to return our hotels in the evening and took few snaps over there and we were very tired of the day so we went to bed early that day.
The next we shifted toward the city which was also close to the beach namely R K Beach and on that day we went to visit Borra caves which was
around 100 km away from the city. We decided to travel in a train so that we can see the beauty of nature . We had to pass through many tunnels.
We reached there at 1pm and decided to have the lunch first and visit the cave.
The cave was very big and very old also it was searched by British long back before Independence. It took around 1 hour to visit the cave and then
we had snacks and returned to hotel at night. The next day we went to beach we spend the whole day over there we enjoyed a lot in the sea. In the
evening we went to coffee shop, we also visited the handloom fair which was going on there.
The next the day we boarded the train to return back to Kolkata. It was a wonderful and enriching experience.
